About the Author

Carolyn Bowman is the author of The Wiggly Warrior, a memoir celebrating resilience, humor and the transformative power of yoga. Born with cerebral palsy, Carolyn has spent a lifetime embracing life’s challenges and joys, developing creative adaptations, and fostering a deep connection with her body through movement and mindfulness. Her story offers a unique perspective on navigating disability, blending personal anecdotes with universal themes of perseverance and hope.

After a 30-year career as a public school teacher, Carolyn found a new passion for writing, inspired by daily meditation and a desire to share lessons and triumphs that have shaped her journey. As a yoga instructor, Carolyn now empowers others to feel good in their bodies, offering practices on a chair, yoga mat, or in the warm water pool. Her work is a testament to the healing power of movement and self-compassion.

A Southern California native now living in the Bay Area, Carolyn enjoys spontaneous adventures, warm water swims and lively discussions with her book groups. She treasures time spent with her daughter Emma, and her cat Lorelai.
